Incorporated in 1912, Seward, Alaska is approximately 75 miles southwest of Anchorage. For tourists, the city is home to the Alaska SeaLife Center and Kenai Fjords National Park and is also the starting point for a number of Alaskan tours, such as Major Marine Tours. Visitors to Seward have a variety of accommodations to choose from, including recreational vehicle campsites. These private and public campgrounds operate in the summer months and offer a variety of amenities and on-site recreational activities.
  1. Stoney Creek RV Park

    • Privately-owned Stoney Creek RV Park consists of 81 gravel campsites, approximately 45 of which feature a specialized design that allows drivers to pull their RVs into the spots rather than having to back them into their lots. The pull-throughs measure 28 feet by 65 feet, while the remaining back-ins are 28 feet by 45 feet. All of the sites have full electric, water and sewage hookups as well as connections for cable television, telephones and wired modem Internet service. Free wireless Internet is also accessible throughout the park. On-site amenities include restrooms, showers, a waste dump and laundry facilities. The campground sells firewood for campers' convenience. The park has horseshoe pits and a gameroom on the property and offers a shuttle to downtown Seward for guests. Stoney Creek RV Park is open from mid-March through mid-September.

    Waterfront Park

    • Owned and operated by the City of Seward, Waterfront Park offers six campgrounds: Iditarod, Resurrection, Marathon, Harborside and William's Park. Altogether, the campgrounds have 441 gravel, recreational vehicle campsites. Ninety-nine of the spots offer electric and water hookups with the remaining spaces having no connections. A waste dump is located on the property as well as restrooms, showers and public telephones. Waterfront Park is situated along Resurrection Bay, offering saltwater fishing and a ramp and dock for boating. Playgrounds are also available at the park. The recreational vehicle campgrounds operate from mid-April through the end of September. No reservations are accepted; all camping is on a first-come, first-serve basis. The city imposes a 14-day maximum on all stays at the campgrounds.

    Bear Creek RV Park

    • A family-owned and operated facility, Bear Creek RV Park is home to 80 campsites, the largest of which can accommodate vehicles up to 80 feet in length. The majority of the campsites have full electric, water and sewage hookups, while the remaining spaces offering only water and electricity. Cable television connections are available at every site. The park offers wireless Internet access near the park's main office and provides showers, restrooms, laundry facilities, an ice machine and a waste dump. The park operates a liquor store and a convenience store, which sells firewood, propane and basic groceries. DVD rentals are available from the park office, and the park has a fully-stocked bar on-site. Bear Creek RV Park is open from June through mid-September.
