Farleigh Dickinson University's International School of Hospitality and Tourism Management offers a bachelor's of science degree in hotel and restaurant management. The program requires 51 credits of major-related coursework as well as general education requirements. Classes include nutrition, sanitation and food safety, food and beverage management, concepts in transportation and travel and at least six credits of a foreign language. Students must complete at least 1,200 hours of hands-on work experience in New York City's hospitality industry. Students are also required to attend a global issues in hospitality management seminar or conference outside of the United States. Farleigh Dickinson University also offers a master's degree in hospitality management studies. The 36-credit program is designed to accommodate the schedules of working professionals, offering evening and weekend classes. To qualify for the program, students must be working professionals with experience in the hospitality industry. Coursework includes classes such as global marketing for hospitality executives, discovering the world of wine, international tourism and hospitality law.

Coursework includes classes such as foundations of hospitality management, principles of marketing, supply chain strategy in hotels and restaurants and advanced culinary management. Mercer County Community College offers a hotel, restaurant and institution management program leading to an associate in applied science degree. The program requires 65 credits to complete. Coursework includes hospitality success skills, sanitation and safety in food service operations, hospitality law, food and culture and hospitality marketing. Students can choose a full-time or part-time schedule. Most classes are offered during the day and in the evenings and some are available on the weekends. Students must complete an internship in a restaurant or hotel in order to graduate.
