Montreal, Quebec is where Concordia's Art Therapy program is based. Strengths of this program are its international agenda. The Concordia program combines theoretical approaches developed in Great Britain, France and the United States. They have a practicum site, The Centre for the Arts in Human Development where students develop and apply art therapy theory. The Art Education program at Florida State has a masters level degree, and a PHd with emphasis in Art Education, Art Therapy, and Arts Administration. Summer courses are required for this degree program. Weekend workshops are held by guest art therapists during the summer session at the Ringling School of Art and Design - Sarasota, Florida and at the Florida State University. Florida State offers a professional certificate in Arts and Community Practice for undergraduates and graduates. The certificate requires course credits in social work, as well as art studio.
