Marine Engineer Schools

Marine engineering is one college major where students spend a substantial portion of their academic career outside of the classroom. Practical components of marine engineering curricula are extensive and normally include laboratory work, summer sea cruises, internships and even regiment participation to prepare graduates for careers in ship and watercraft design and maintenance. Many maritime colleges additionally require marine engineering students to obtain U.S. Coast Guard licensure prior to graduation. With steep admissions requirements, prospective marine engineering program candidates should have completed a host of high school level courses in mathematics and the sciences.
