Candidates must sit the General Achievement Profile (GAP) test or the LPN Specialized Testing to Evaluate Preparedness (STEP) in order to be considered for admission. Applicants must also demonstrate through documentation that they have at least one-year of full-time clinical nursing experience. The advanced placement option for LPNs is five semesters in duration and courses are held during the day. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 2.5 on previous academic coursework. Prospective students must also sit the Acceleration Challenge Exam (ACE), directed by the National League for Nursing (NLN), with a minimum score of 80% followed by the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). Students must attain a grade of “C” or higher on coursework in anatomy and physiology, general and developmental psychology, English composition and argument-based research in order to progress with their studies. Applicants may transfer prerequisite courses in math, anatomy and physiology, psychology, nursing assessment, first aid training and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
