East Coast Engineering Colleges

Engineers work to resolve technical problems by using scientific and mathematical applications. They develop new products, test machines and their components and perform a variety of other technical tasks. Getting a degree in engineering can lead to a wide array of options within the job market. There are many schools on the East coast that offer engineering programs that provide students with the skills needed to get into the engineering job market.

    • The Boston University College of Engineering, in Massachusetts, guides students in handling engineering problems and the development of innovative solutions. The school is one of the nation's largest private research schools and provides students with the opportunity to study abroad. The school offers a variety of programs in the field of engineering including aerospace, biomedical, computer, and electrical.Some of the courses that are covered in the programs include calculus, physics and engineering mechanics. As of summer semester 2010, tuition for engineering students is $1184 per semester. The school applies additional fees of $40 for registration, $200 technology and lab fees, and a $30 fee for a student ID.

    Hampton University

    • Hampton University is a college is a private, four year school in Hampton, Virgina that offers a variety of engineering programs that opens the door for such jobs as aviation, chemistry, and air traffic control. The school provides students with both hands on and classroom training where they gain the experience needed to become professionals. Tuition for the 2008-2010 school year is $16, 238 with additional fees of $8,048 for room and board.

    New Jersey Science and Technology University

    • The New Jersey Science and Technology University, located in Newark, New Jersey, offers an electrical and computer engineering program that provides the academic and research experience needed to get into the fields of electrical and computer engineering. The school has a state of the art facility where students use innovative techniques and state of the art education to move into a career in the field. Some of the courses that are covered include physiology for engineers, linear systems and signal analysis. In state graduate students will pay $7,100 per semester for the 2009-2010 school year, out of state students pay $10,084 per semester. Undergraduate students living in state will pay $5,408 per semester, and out of state students have to pay $10,280 per semester.
