    Penn State Beaver

    • Penn State Beaver in Monaca is part of the larger Penn State University public college system. This Big 10 university mainly offers associate degrees but grants full bachelor's degrees in nursing, psychology and business. Students can also earn a master's degree in teaching. The associate degrees are transferable to other Penn State campuses for class credit. There is no on-campus housing, but the school provides recommendations for local housing options. Student organizations include the Student Government Association, WBVR radio station and "The Roar" student newspaper.

    Washington and Jefferson College

    • Washington and Jefferson College originally started as two different colleges. The small private college in Washington is close to Pittsburgh. Students are involved in many volunteer projects to help the surrounding community, including a project to renovate the downtown area. Most students live on campus, where they can participate in intramural basketball, mock trials, equestrian club and a chess club. The school has a liberal arts focus and includes philosophy, theater, religious studies and biological physics programs.

    University of Pittsburgh

    • The University of Pittsburgh has 400 different undergraduate and graduate degree programs. You can use the resources at any of its specialized libraries including a law library and fine arts library. Many classes can be completed online. The university has a large research department that has studied computing and heart health. You'll never be bored living in one of the biggest cities in Pennsylvania and participating in student organizations like intramural volleyball and the debate team.
