Robert Morris University is a private school situated in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. It is approximately three miles from downtown Sewickley. The school also has regional campuses in Bradford, Greensburg, Johnstown and Titusville, which are all in Pennsylvania.
Located approximately 18 miles from Sewickley, Carnegie Mellon University is situated in Pittsburgh. According to the university's website, more than 11,000 students currently attend the school. Carnegie Mellon University is composed of seven individual colleges. It was founded in 1900 by Andrew Carnegie, who emigrated to the United States from Scotland in 1845 and quickly became a wealthy entrepreneur and philanthropist.
Duquesne University is located in Pittsburgh; its campus is approximately 17 miles from Sewickley. According to the university's website, 10,363 students attend Duquesne University as of January 2011. More than 3,000 of those students live on the school's 49 acre campus in Pittsburgh. Home of the Dukes, Duquesne participates in NCAA Division I basketball. The men's and women's basketball teams play home games in the school's Palumbo Center.
