The Vancouver Academy of Music is a non-profit institution that was created with the sole intention of improving the quality of music education that students in western Canada receive. The program emphasizes both private instruction and public performance as essential aspects of its curriculum. The academy offers programs of instruction for students in both high school and college. High school students can complete a performer's certificate, while those holding a bachelor's degree in music can receive an artist's diploma. For those who have not yet benefited from instruction at the collegiate level, a Bachelor of Music degree is offered in conjunction with Thompson Rivers University.
