Capitalize the name of the company:
Example: Most business positions require a knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Don't capitalize the words "the" or "company" unless they are part of the company's name. Check the company's website or pamphlets if you are unsure.
Spell out the entire company name the first time you reference it. Use acronyms only after you have referenced the full name at least once:
Example: America Online is one company that allows you to connect to the Internet. AOL also offers chat software, content pages and advertising.
Do not capitalize "the," "and," or "of" unless it is the first word of the company name.
Follow the company's standard on how the name should be written:
Example: When shopping online, PayPal is a very convenient and safe way of making payments.
Example: My brother bought an iPod the other day, and now he is constantly downloading songs from Apple's iTunes store.
Note: If a company name is usually written in all lower case letters, capitalize the company name to make it stand apart from the rest of the document.
Refer to a company as "the company" only if you are speaking about a company you represent to those who work for that same company.
Refer to the company as "we" only when you represent the company you are speaking of, and if you have previously made it clear what company "we" refers to:
Example: Here at Jane Doe Company, we strive to provide you with the best products. We are always researching new ways of making our products better for the environment.
