Locate the author on the FDA Laboratory Information Bulletin. This will be just below the title of the LIB, and there may be more than one. For our example, we will use the names John Doe and Jane Dee. The first part of our reference will be Doe, J., Dee. J.
Locate the date the LIB was issued. This is usually at the very top of the bulletin. For our example we will use 2010. Our reference now looks like this, Doe, J., Dee, J. (2010).
Locate the title of the LIB. Do not italicize the title of the article for periodicals. Everything is in lowercase except the first letter of the title and the first letter after a colon. The reference now looks like this, Doe, J. & Dee, J. (2010). Effects of dairy production on the shrimp population.
Locate the LIB number. Place the LIB number in parentheses after the title. The reference now looks like this: Doe, J. & Dee, J. (2010). Effects of dairy production on the shrimp population. (FDA LIB# 4284).
Copy the web address that the LIB was retrieved from and finish the reference. The completed reference should look like this: Doe, J. & Dee, J. (2010).
