How to Cite a Reference Volume

Reference volumes can be an important part of research for a paper or manuscript and as such, should be properly cited. Encyclopedias and dictionaries are common reference volumes and there are specific ways to cite them. MLA (Modern Language Association) Style has one way of citing reference volumes while APA (American Psychological Association) has another. Typically, MLA is used with humanities papers and APA with social sciences papers, but both can be used with any paper if necessary.
