Northern Colorado Colleges

Northern Colorado is home to several colleges and universities. The tuition and enrollment sizes vary, as do their programs. Colorado offers a tuition reduction per credit hour for students who live in Colorado, reducing the tuition rates of public colleges and universities. The tuition rates quoted are with this reduction.
  1. University of Northern Colorado

    • Based in Greeley, in the northeastern area of Colorado, the University of Northern Colorado has about 12,500 students, of whom 78 percent receive some kind of financial aid, according to State University, a college statistics website. The 2010-2011 cost per credit hour is $195 for in-state undergraduate students.

    Colorado State University

    • Colorado State University has a per-credit hour rate of $262.80 for in-state undergraduate residents for the 2010-2011 school year. Fort Collins is the home for Colorado State University. The enrollment at Colorado State is 27,636, and 64 percent of students receive some kind of financial aid, according to the State University website.

    University of Colorado Boulder

    • An arts and science student at the University of Colorado at Boulder can expect to pay $1,019 per undergraduate credit hour if she is a Colorado resident. Tuition rates for business and engineering students are higher. Boulder is located about an hour northwest of Denver at the very edge of the Rocky Mountains. About 32,469 students are enrolled in the Boulder campus of the University of Colorado, and 77 percent of them receive some type of financial aid, according to the State University website.

    Community Colleges

    • The Front Range Community College system serves much of the northern Colorado area, including Longmont, Brighton, Westminster and Fort Collins. Aims Community College is located in Greeley, Colorado, and it also has campuses in Fort Lupton and Loveland, Colorado.
