Summer College Mission Trips

Just because it is summer does not mean that college students have to lose all connections with a sense of personal responsibility. Instead of idling away time at the beach, consider encouraging the college student in your life to go on a mission trip in order to assist other people.
  1. Adventures in Missions

    • College age individuals from 18 to 22 years old can participate in Adventures in Missions. These students go to other countries and work with churches and ministries in order to deepen the sense of faith, freedom and community in these areas. Summer semester programs include trips to Kenya, Uganda, Asia, Thailand, India, Guatemala, Haiti, Peru and Nicaragua. Students who want to stay for a longer amount of time can look into some of their semester and immersion programs.

    Global Frontier Missions

    • As you will find with most groups categorized as "missions," a primary goal of Global Frontier Missions is to spread the word of the Gospel. People who are not looking to go out of the country can look into this organization. As of January 2011, its summer break trips are scheduled for Atlanta. It also offers trips to Houston, Florida, Mexico, Thailand and Northern India.

    Cross Cultural Adventures

    • As of January 2011, many of the trips were still under construction for the college-age group on the Cross Cultural Adventures website. However, they spread the word of Christ in many different places, such as Africa, among the American Indians, Asia, Central America, the Caribbean, Latin America, South America and Mexico. Each of the short-term trips lasts between two and seven weeks.

    God's Chosen Ones Ministry

    • During the spring and the summer, college students are invited to go with God's Chosen Ones Ministry to Haiti in order to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The group is open to anyone. God's Chosen Ones Ministry is able to take up to 30 people on one of its trips.
