Sprott-Shaw Community College offers students the flexibility of enrolling any month of the year, rather than at the beginning of specified semesters. Students can also take refresher courses for free after graduation for the rest of their lives. The college offers a bachelor's degree in business administration. This degree qualifies graduates to work in accounting and finance, human resources and marketing and sales. Students can personalize their degree by selecting a concentration, such as marketing, human resources management, accounting or international business management.
Located in Vancouver, 39 minutes west of Sprott Shaw, Metropolitan Community College works with several other institutions to educate its students to enter the work force. The college offers a 50-week paralegal program that allows students to learn in the classroom and then complete a 24-week paid internship. Students can also enroll in the British Columbia employment program, which helps students who would otherwise have a difficult time finding work become care aides and social services support workers. This program does not carry the same requirements as entrance into the main college.
Students at Vancouver Community College, which has two Vancouver locations, can choose from a number of programs. Adults who require additional schooling after dropping out or having difficulties in high school can enroll in an adult upgrading program. Other areas of study include design, hospitality, language and writing, technology and transportation trades. Students can also take advantage of the college's child care, counseling and health services.
With six campuses, MTI Community College offers career training to its students. The college offers numerous degree programs, such as early childhood care and education, accounting and payroll administration, hospitality, travel and tourism, medical lab assistant and dental assisting. International students can earn degrees in areas such as a tourism and hospitality internship, a professional business management internship and nursing licensure preparation. Many of these degrees are one- or two-year certificate programs, allowing graduates to enter the work force quickly.
