Metropolitan Community College (MCC) has seven locations in and around the Omaha metro area. MCC stretches from north Omaha to Bellevue to Elkhorn and has an enrollment of more than 47,000 students. The college offers career and technical programs in areas like human services, automotive technology, finance, culinary arts, welding and more. Online classes and a general studies program are also available. Tuition at MCC is less than $100 per credit hour and is reduced for those over the age of 62 and high school students. MCC also draws many students through its non-credit continuing education classes.
Located in Norfolk, Nebraska, Northeast Community College (NCC) offers degree, diploma and certificate programs in a variety of fields including agronomy, broadcasting, theatre, drafting, information technology and nursing. Tuition is less than $100 a credit hour for residents and non-residents. NCC is home to more than 7,000 students who can choose to live in residence halls or nearby apartments. NCC also offers child care, intramural sports leagues, and student organizations and clubs like Student Nurses Association, Drafting Club and Christian Student Fellowship. NCC also maintains smaller locations in West Point, South Sioux City and O'Neill, Nebraska.
Southeast Community College (SCC) has campuses in Lincoln, Beatrice and Milford, Nebraska. Most programs offered at SCC are technical programs and include automotive technology, diesel technology, criminal justice, surgical technology and pharmacy technology. Humanities programs are also available for students interested in art and music. Some programs can be completed online or partially online. The Lincoln campus has the highest enrollment of all SCC locations while the Beatrice location is home to SCC's six athletic programs. Each campus provides housing, wellness and gym options for students. Tuition at SCC is less than $75 an hour for residents and non-residents.
The main campus of Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC) is located in Scottsbluff, on the Colorado-Nebraska border. Two smaller campuses are found in Sidney and Alliance, also in the Nebraska panhandle. WNCC has an enrollment of around 2,300 students seeking college credit, with about half attending full time. A small percentage of these students choose to live on campus in WNCC's single residence hall. Degree and certificate classes are available in areas of study such as Spanish, social work, cosmetology, art, business, information technology, pre-medicine and pre-law. Students can attend WNCC for less than $100 per credit hour.
Central Community College (CCC) has campuses in the mid-sized cities of Columbus, Grand Island and Hastings with a total enrollment of more than 25,000 students. Each campus hosts around 2,500 to 3,000 full time, credit seeking students. There are 33 online and face-to-face programs at CCC including agriculture, business, automotive and transmission, media and graphic arts, manufacturing, human and social services, information technology, electronics, construction, health care, and manufacturing and fabrication. Tuition at CCC is less than $120 a credit hour. The Columbus and Hastings campuses offer on-site housing options.
