Fill a board with quotes designed to inspire and challenge your students to think about the future. Focus on making a difference, starting a new career with confidence and standing tall to meet the challenges that lie ahead in the "real world." Include positive statistics, such as how many of your college's graduates find a job within the first few months of looking, or the difference in the average salary between a person with a college degree and someone who does not have a degree. Or create a bulletin board full of well-wishes from each faculty member.
Help your students remember their college years fondly with a bulletin board that features highlights of the past four years. Hang photos from major sporting or other events. Include notable achievements of specific student groups, such as money raised for charity or awards won at competitions. Also include photos of those seniors when they were freshmen squeezed into residence hall rooms, if you have them, or photos of when they were babies (if you have enough room).
Highlight the career choices of the graduating students by creating a bulletin board divided into sections by major. Include the name of each student on a paper graduation hat listed under each major, along with quotes such as "Teachers touch lives." If you are a small college, include a group photo of the students in each major.
Show some school spirit by asking the students to write about the things they like best about their college. Decorate the bulletin board with school colors and perhaps the words to the school song. Include some quotes about how they helped make the school great during their years there. Add mementos such as tickets from championship games and other meaningful school items.
