Trinity Lutheran Seminary follows the Lutheran model of ecumenical ministry; its faculty, student body and curriculum are doctrinally diverse. Trinity students serve the greater Columbus area conducting worship services, leading Bible studies and working on other outreach projects such as Habitat for Humanity, Greenbriar Food Pantry and Faith Mission. Trinity offers degree programs in divinity, theological studies, church music, youth and family ministry and Christian education. It also offers joint degree programs in law and nursing, and master's and doctorate programs in sacred theology and ministry, respectively. Trinity encourages prospective students to spend time on campus before applying to get to know the Trinity community.
Pontifical is a Roman Catholic seminary for men who wish to become priests. Its two academic divisions are the College of Liberal Arts, with majors in Philosophy and Humanities, and the School of Theology, which qualifies candidates for ordination to the priesthood and a Master of Divinity degree. Days begin with morning prayer and mass, followed by classes and activities. A community dinner follows evening prayers.
Bexley Hall is an Episcopal-affiliated that trains students in the Catholic disciplines of social action, liturgy and prayer. Bexley shares faculty with Trinity Lutheran Seminary, providing students with an education in theology and biblical studies. Students can pursue a Master of Divinity degree that prepares them for priesthood in the Episcopal Church. Graduates of other seminaries can pursue a Certificate in Anglican Studies. Bexley emphasizes the integration of theological doctrine with the challenges of the secular community. It offers several scholarships for Episcopal students.
Students at Valor Christian College choose from among seven associate degree programs in subjects such as pastoral leadership, missions, music ministry and media ministries. Valor also offers a one-year certificate program in evangelism or general studies. Students can take classes on campus or online. The college is affiliated with the nearby World Harvest Church, where students get practical experience in evangelism and ministry. Applicants must submit a personal Christian testimony, a pastoral recommendation, a spousal recommendation if the student is married, and transcripts and SAT scores.
