Required courses include basic and advanced courses in intermediate accounting and contemporary accounting topics. Options for accounting major include federal taxation, count accounting, financial statement, auditing among others. The school also helps students prepare for the Certified Public Accounting exam.
Heald College is a regionally-accredited college that offers several degree options in accounting. Students can earn a diploma or an associate in applied science in business administration with an emphasis in accounting. Both options require courses in accounting fundamentals, computerized accounting concepts and spreadsheet applications, among others. California Tax Education Council approves the accounting curriculum at Heald and allows it to offer a 60-hour course in federal and state taxes. Students who complete this course can become registered tax preparers in the state of California.
