San Francisco Trade Schools

San Francisco has many different trade schools. Trade schools will give those interested in a specific trade the skills to find a career in the field they are desiring to work in. Whether it be in fashion or bartending, there are highly regarded trade schools located in San Francisco.
  1. Herald College

    • Herald College offers programs in health care, business, legal and technology. The school was founded in 1863 as the first business college in the western part of the United States. The school features skill-training but also focuses on giving students the necessary resources to make them a more well-rounded student. Students do not only take courses in their specific program, but also study contemporary literature culture, learn ethical practices and develop personal and social responsibility. Students also focus on leadership and communication skills. Some programs in the school include Dental Assisting, Pharmacy Technology, Hospitality and Tourism, Software Technologies, Criminal Justice and Network Security. The 60,000-square-foot facility, located in San Francisco's Financial District, offers a library, computer lab, and free e-mail and Internet access on campus.     Marinello School of Beauty

    • With a campus located in San Francisco, Marinello School of Beauty is a beauty school with the goal of training future beauticians. The Marinello School of Beauty has locations throughout Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon and Utah since it originated in 1905. The school offers program in hair care, skin care, nail care, massage therapy and cidesco (beauty therapy). There are also training classes to become a beauty instructor. Advanced education programs are also available. There are two San Francisco locations, one location at 1087 Mission Street and the other at 1035 Market Street, Suite 100.

    San Francisco School of Bartending

    • The San Francisco School of Bartending is one of the most respected bartender certification programs in California. The school offers a state-licensed certificate course for jobs in bartending. Lessons in bar tool usage, bar setup and breakdown, history of liquors and liqueurs, mixing drinks, liquor regulations and other bartending-related aspects are taught in this program. The school also helps with resume writing, interview training and job placement. The San Francisco School of Bartending is located at 760 Market Street, Suite 283.

    Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising

    • The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising is a private college that specializes in educating students in fashion, graphics, interior design and the entertainment world. The school began in 1969 in downtown Los Angeles and has now grown to four different campuses. The student body features over 7,500 students and over 40,000 graduates worldwide. The goal of FIDM is to create an educational environment that combines the desires of students with career realities. The school features 20 creative majors ranging from Fashion Design to Interior Design. The San Francisco FIDM location is at 55 Stockton Street #5.
