Attending an international school of veterinary medicine offers American students a unique opportunity to receive an excellent education while experiencing life in another country. Most degrees offered by foreign veterinary programs, whether they are a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree, are easily transferable and valid for practicing in the United States.
  1. American Univeristy of Antigua College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Science

    • A doctorate degree in veterinary medicine from AUA will prepare graduates for practice in Antigua or stateside.

      Offering a doctorate of veterinary medicine, the American University of Antigua at University Park is located on the Island of Antigua, West Indies. This unique and highly specialized program is affiliated with Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and provides unique transfer opportunities for students wishing to graduate from a stateside program. All faculty members at AUA have either an M.D. or Ph.D. in their respective fields, and most are board certified.

    University of Queensland School of Veterinary Medicine

    • The University of Queensland encourages international applicants.

      Students may pursue a bachelor's degree, master's degree or a doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Queensland's School of Veterinary Medicine. Veterinary school graduates are certified to practice in Australia, New Zealand, and in all countries with a reciprocal accreditation.

      The University of Queensland accepts overseas students above its quota of national students, but all international students are required to have equivalent prerequisites if transferring into the veterinary program of studies.

    University of Prince Edward Island, Atlantic Veterinary College

    • Students at AVC can choose from 50 clinical rotations.

      Founded in 1986 and now fully accredited, the Atlantic Veterinary College offers a four-year curriculum with emphasis during the first year on form and function of normal animals. Subsequent years introduce students to disease processes, agents, and treatments, as well as clinical applications, clinical studies of large and small animals, herd-health principles for farmed species and a choice of 50 clinical rotations. Students will graduate with a doctorate in veterinary medicine.
