Korean Art Schools

Korean art is deeply influenced by Chinese art, but stands on its own with important Buddhist painting and landscape paintings. The earliest Korean painting dates to 108 B.C., around the time the Lelang Kingdom was founded. 20th century works of art offer a look back at Korean traditions. While art students in Korea can take courses such as painting and ceramics, there is a heavy emphasis at many schools on digital design and technology. Some universities have long-standing programs, while others are relatively new, but all offer some sort of degree program in art.
