Get good grades in high school. Take advanced science, math and English classes. Try to maintain at least a "B" average, but keep in mind that the better grade point average you have, the better your chances of getting into a good nursing school.
Research a list of colleges with Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs that you wish to attend. Consider the most important factors of the school you attend, such as whether the program is close to home. Make a list of the admission requirements and application deadlines. You should do this at the end of your junior year in high school.
Apply to the schools you want to attend by the school's application deadline. Make sure you complete all the application requirements.
Meet with your academic adviser once you get into a school with the nursing program you wish to attend. Check with your adviser to see if you can declare nursing as your major immediately or if the nursing school at your university requires you to fulfill prerequisite courses before allowing you to declare nursing as your major.
Keep your grade point average above the minimum requirement for graduation. If you fall too far below the minimum requirements, many schools will put you on academic probation or remove you from the school.
