Enroll in an associate nursing degree program that will fit your learning style. Associate programs can be attended on a full time or part time basis. Programs are also offered on-line, on campus, or a combination of both. While on-line programs seem convenient, it may not be a good choice for all learners as some students learn better in a classroom setting. Enrolling in a program that fits your needs will position you for successful completion of the associate nursing degree program.
Take courses that will fulfill the requirements for the program. Each associate nursing degree program will have outlined courses and clinical experience that must be completed to earn a degree. Meet with your advisor at the beginning of each term, the advisor will then suggest courses that you should enroll in to fulfill the requirements. Nursing programs have a heavy amount of coursework, so by meeting with your advisor, you can devise a plan to balance required courses and elective courses to make the program more manageable.
Graduate with an associate nursing degree. In the final semester meet with your advisor to make sure that all program requirements will be met by the end of the term. Submit a petition to graduate to your registrar. Even if you do not plan on attending a formal graduation, the petition should be submitted. The registrar will make sure that your credits are officially recorded and address any discrepancies. At the end of the semester your transcripts and degree will be provided to you at graduation or by mail.
