Materials management is concerned with purchasing, transporting and distributing supplies used in the day-to-day operations of a business. Supply chain management and logistics are terms often used interchangeably with materials management. Some colleges offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in materials management. Some offer materials management as an area of concentration in a business administration degree program.
