How to Cite the DSM IV-TR

The DSM refers to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, a publication of the American Psychiatric Association that is the world standard for the diagnosis of mental disorders. The DSM-IV refers to the fourth edition. The DSM-IV-TR is a text revision of the DSM-IV that was published in 2000. There is a very specific format in which to cite the DSM-IV-TR if you need to include it in a reference list at the end of a term paper or research article.
