How to Cite a Website in Turabian

Turabian is a subset of Chicago citation style that was specifically designed for use by students. Some college professors require that a student format papers in Turabian style. When using Turabian style, it is important to follow specific guidelines for citing sources. Turabian Style has clear rules governing the correct citation of websites.

Instructions

      List the last name of the author of the web page, followed by a comma, followed by their first name, followed by a period.

      List the year in which the web document or page was published to the site, followed by a period.

      List the title of a web document, followed by a period. The title should appear in italics, and should be followed by a period.

      List the type of media in brackets, followed by a period. Make sure that the period falls outside the brackets. For a website, the medium will appear as follows:

      Available from http://www.website.com.

      Make sure that the URL is underlined.

      List the date that you accessed the information you are citing, followed by a period. List this information in the following format:
