Locate the original file, or download it from the Moodle course page.
Open the document in the appropriate software, where you can make any necessary changes.
If the document is a .pdf or other image file, you will have to retype the document in a word-processing program.
Save the newly updated or created word-processing document.
Log into your Moodle Course.
Make sure you have "editing" on. This can be verified by the button in the upper-right corner. If the button reads, "Turn editing off," you are in edit mode. If the button reads, "Turn editing on," then click the button.
Delete the old rubric by clicking on the little red "X" next to the document title.
Click on the "Add a resource" drop-down menu. Then click "link to a file or web page." This brings up a new window titled, "Adding a Resource."
Supply a name for the document on this page, and click "Choose or upload a file."
Click "Upload a file."
Click "Browse." This will bring up a menu of the files on your local computer.
Find the newly updated rubric file and click on it. Then click "Open."
Click on "Upload this file."
Click on the box next to the newly uploaded file -- a checkmark will appear in the box -- and then click "Choose" to the right of the file.
Click on "Save and return to course" or "Save and display" at the bottom of the page.
Enter Moodle with editing turned on, and click on the linked document title.
Click the "Update this Resouse" button in the upper-right corner.
Edit the text of the document.
Click the "Save and return to course" or the "Save and display" button at the bottom of the page.
