How to Cite a Gale Research Literary Criticism

Gale Literature Criticism Online is a database of tens of thousands of scholarly articles, academic essays and commentary on the print medium. Many students have access to this database and use its articles to write academic essays.

The most common style of citation is the Modern Language Association (MLA) format. In MLA format, you begin your citation just as you would for a book, magazine, or periodical. At the end of the entry, you need to indicate that the article came from a database. In MLA, your Works Cited or References page should be indented with what's called a hanging indent, which means the first line of an entry is not indented, and all other lines of that entry are indented.
