Citing Articles in MLA Style

  Organize your citation in the following manner if you are citing an article from a magazine: Author's Last Name, First Name. "Title of Article." Title of Magazine in Italics Day Month Year of Publication: Page Range. Medium of Publication. For example: Jones, Samuel. "The Best Japanese Teas." Tea Time Weekly 11 Jan. 2009: 149-153. Print.

Title of Journal in Italics Volume.Issue (Year): Page Range. Medium of Publication. For example: Jones, Samuel. "The Best Japanese Teas." The Journal of Tea 13.7 (2010): 149-153. Print.

  Organize your citation in the following manner if you are citing an article from a newspaper: Author's Last Name, First Name. "Title of Article." Title of Newspaper in Italics Day Month Year of Publication: Page. Medium of Publication. For example: Jones, Samuel. "Price of Japanese Tea Rises Sharply." New York Times 11 Jan. 2009: A4. Print.

  If the newspaper is a local publication that does not have national distribution, list the city and state from which it originates in brackets after the newspaper title. For example: Jones, Samuel. "Price of Japanese Tea Rises Sharply." New York Times [New York, NY] 11 Jan. 2009: A4. Print.

Citing Articles in APA Style

  Organize your citation in the following manner if you are citing an article from a magazine: Author's Last Name, First Initial. (Year, Month Day of Publication). Title of article. Title of Magazine in Italics, Issue, Page Range. For example: Jones, S. (2009). The best Japanese teas. Tea Time Weekly, 14, 149-153.

  Organize your citation in the following manner if you are citing an article from a journal: Author's Last Name, First Initial. (Year of Publication). Title of article. Title of Journal in Italics, Volume In Italics(Issue), Page Range. For example: Jones, S. (2010). The best Japanese teas. The Journal of Tea, 13(7), 149-153. If you are citing an article from a journal that is paginated by volume and does not have issue numbers, simply omit the issue number from your citation.

  If the article appears on more than one page, list both pages, preceded by "pp." For example: Jones, S. (2009, Jan. 11). Price of Japanese tea rises sharply. The New York Times, pp. A4, C1.
