This University offers its own sports scholarship program together with a government-funded program designed for athletes, known as the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS). The recipient receives a series of cash grants, up to a value of £2000, as well as increased access to university sports and fitness facilities and workshops designed to improve the student's fitness.
The TASS grants bursaries of up to £3000 to talented students, who can be nominated for the scholarship by their school, the university or the national governing body for their particular sport.
The university welcomes applications in a variety of sports, but applications in common sports such as basketball are given higher priority.

London's Brunel University has maintained sport support programs since the 1960s, with the scholarship program made possible by donations from the Brunel Road Scholarships fund. Provisions include an opportunity to reside in university accommodations close to sporting facilities, a cash bursary, and a chance to attend development workshops. The university tailors its programs toward each student and provides mentors to guide them as they train.
To apply, students must present the university with a performance plan and show talent or evidence of outstanding performance in their chosen sport; they must also show they are capable of handling the academic side of university life, too.

This university has its own team of sporting students who benefit from being part of the High Performance Squad. Each of these students receives a bursary of £1000 as well as access to subsidized equipment and sports clothing, fitness tests and advice on matters such as sports psychology. Each member must present the university with his own development plan, and the university's staff tailors the provisions to meet each student's needs.
In addition to the High Performance Squad, a total of 12 students each year stand a chance of being awarded a bursary of £3000, through the Vice Chancellors' Award scheme, given to students of particularly high talent.
