Sports Grants for School

There are many benefits for children who participate in sports, such as increased social interaction and physical health. Many public schools cannot fund athletics programs, or their programs are so limited that not all students can participate. Many organizations provide sports grants for schools to support sports activities.
  1. Tony Hawk Foundation

    • The Tony Hawk Foundation offers sports grants for skate parks in low-income areas across the country. School systems and local and state governments are eligible. The sports grant amount is $25,000 and is approved twice a year.

    USA Football Equipment Grant

    • USA Football is an official youth football development coordinator of the NFL that offers sports grants annually to elementary, middle and high school football programs. Youth football programs grants are $1,000, and high school football grants are $1,500.

    Baseball Tomorrow Fund

    • Major League Baseball sponsors the Baseball Tomorrow Fund, which offers grants to nonprofit organizations, cities and school districts for maintenance, baseball equipment and field creation. The average amount for the award is $39,000. Applicants must submit a letter of inquiry to MLB's Baseball Tomorrow Fund.

    NFL Grassroots Field Grant Program

    • The NFL awards sports grants to youth football organizations and high school for projects through the NFL Grassroots Field Grant Program. Grants are provided for general field support and field surfacing. Field support grants are $50,000, and field-surfacing grants are up to $200,000.
