Indiana State Student Assistance's Children of Veteran and Public Safety Officer Supplemental Grant Program awards grants that can cover all tuition for children of police officers and other public safety personnel killed in the line of duty. A recipient needs to be younger than 23 when his parents die, and the recipient must be a fulltime student and the biological or legally adopted son or daughter of the officer killed. The grant program is also open to officers' spouses. While the grants cover all tuition and incorporated fees, they do not cover additional costs, such as room and board.
