American Veterans (AMVETS) offers a scholarship program for entering college freshmen who are the children of an Air Force veteran who has been honorably discharged. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average and be able to demonstrate financial need. Selected students will receive $1,000 per year for up to four academic years, and recipients must maintain a college GPA of at least 2.0.

The Air Force Sergeants Association offers several scholarships in conjunction with the Airmen Memorial Foundation. Scholarships are available for children of Air Force, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command veterans. Scholarships range from $500 to $3,000, and recipients are chosen based on their academic record, character, leadership skills, writing ability and potential to succeed.

The Gen. Henry H. Arnold Education Grant Program provides $2,000 awards to children of active duty, reserve, retired and deceased Air Force servicemen and women. Awards are available for graduating high school seniors who are planning to enroll in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited college or university. Though academic achievement is considered, selection is based primarily on financial need.
