Molecular Biology Scholarships

A number of scholarships are available to assist students who are pursuing a degree in molecular biology. Science and math departments at institutions of higher learning are the most common sources of scholarships for molecular biology students. Some scholarships for molecular biology students are limited to students pursuing graduate degrees.
  1. UMass Amherst Molecular Biology Scholarships

    • The College of Natural Sciences at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst offers several scholarships to students majoring in molecular biology. The Jessica Hayes Scholarship Award is awarded to a molecular biology student at UMass Amherst on the basis of high school achievement, pursuit of non-traditional challenges, and their breadth of interests. The Linda Slakey Award is awarded to a molecular biology student pursuing research between their junior and senior year who is a member of the University Honors Program. The Henry N. Little Scholarship Award is awarded to a student at the end of their junior year on the basis of their cumulative grade point average.     Iowa State University Molecular Biology Scholarships

    • The Department of Biochemistry, Biophysics & Molecular Biology at Iowa State University offers several scholarships to students pursuing a degree in molecular biology. The Department of BBMB Freshman Scholarship is available to incoming students in the amount of $500. The John H. Weber Family Scholarship is also available to freshmen molecular biology students, is awarded in amounts ranging from $1,000 to $2,000, and may be renewable for a second year if a recipient maintains a grade point average of 3.0 or above. Continuing molecular biology students are also eligible for a number of departmental scholarships, including the Dexter French Scholarship, the Jack and Carole Horowitz Scholarship, and the Rob Stupka Memorial Scholarship.     Montclair State University Molecular Biology Scholarships

    • The College of Science and Mathematics at Montclair State University offers a variety of scholarships to students pursuing a graduate degree in molecular biology. The Al Stein Award is given in varying amounts to graduate molecular biology students with a grade point average of 3.0 or above. The Viola Whitney Pfleger Fund awards scholarships of up to $700 to graduate students in the department. preference is given to molecular biology students with an interest in plant biology. The Bonnie Lustigman Research Fellowship is awarded in amounts ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 to help a molecular biology student defray the cost of graduate-level research.
