Many scholarships are offered by companies or foundations around the country. For example, the Raise the Nation Continuing Education scholarship is for women earning an average of $27,500 a year. There are two deadlines; August 1st and December 1st, respectively, and the amount averages between $500 to $1,000 based on need. In addition, Raise the Nation offers scholarships to children of single parents.
The financial aid office at your university can probably tell you about private scholarships. Scholarship search engines such as College Board and Broke Scholar are also useful for finding private scholarships for working parents.
