The Through the Looking Glass Organization, which is also known as the National Center for Parents with Disabilities and their Families, provides $1,000 scholarships to students under 21 years of age who have at least one disabled parent. The scholarships are awarded to high school seniors who plan to continue their education at two-year or four-year universities and colleges, as well as to college students who are already studying. Students seeking this scholarship must write an essay about their lives growing up with a disabled parent. The essay, as well as letters of recommendation, grades and other factors, are considered together to determine the award recipients.
