The Orphan Foundation of America (OFA) offers two scholarships for foster children as well as the biological children of foster parents. The Casey Family Scholars Scholarship and Foster Care to Success Scholarship are awarded by the OFA based on merit and financial need. Recipients must be less than 25 years of age and provide documented proof of their foster status. The exact amount of both scholarships varies from year to year depending on the college the recipient plans to attend.

The National Foster Parent Association Scholarship (NFPA) Fund designates five $1,000 scholarships each year as the Gordon Evans Scholarship. Evans fostered many children during his life and helped found the organization. Three scholarships are awarded to foster children, and two are awarded to the biological children of foster parents. The foster families must be members of the NFPA in order for their children to be eligible. All five scholarships can go toward college or vocational schools.

The NFPA has also partnered with the University of Phoenix to offer 50 full-time scholarships to any University of Phoenix campus, including the online campus. Youth in foster care are eligible for the scholarships as long as their families are members of the NFPA. The recipients may choose the campus they wish to attend upon receiving the scholarship.
