Air Force Sergeants Association Scholarships

The Air Force Sergeants Association (AFSA) is an organization dedicated to both veterans and currently enlisted members of the United States Air Force. AFSA administers several scholarship programs to help its members and their dependents achieve success in higher education. The annual deadline for all scholarships administered by AFSA is March 31.
  1. AFSA Scholarship Program

    • The Air Force Sergeants Association administers several scholarships that are collectively referred to as the AFSA Scholarship Program. These scholarships are available to dependent children of AFSA members who are pursuing a college degree. Five memorial scholarships are available each year in the amount of $2,500. In addition, three memorial scholarships are available annually in the amount of $2,000, while two are awarded in the amount of $1,500. In addition to AFSA memorial scholarships, two scholarships for academic excellence are also available annually in the amount of $1,500 each.     AMF Scholarship Program

    • The Air Force Sergeants Association also administers several scholarships for the Airmen Memorial Foundation that are collectively known as the AMF Scholarship Program. Three United Services Automobile Association Scholarships are also awarded annually in the amount of $1,000. The BMT Scholarship is awarded each year in the amount of $1,500. The Richard Howard Scholarship, Sharon Piccoli Scholarship, and Julene Howard Scholarship are awarded each year in the amount of $2,000 each. In addition, several Chief Master Sergeants of the Air Force scholarships are awarded each year in amounts ranging between $1,500 and $3,000. These scholarships are available to the dependent children of current or former enlisted members of the Air Force. Prospective applicants should visit the AFSA website for more information.

    AFSA International Auxiliary Education Grant Program

    • The Air Force Sergeants Association also administers educational grants and scholarships to AFSA auxiliary members through the AFSA International Auxiliary Education Grant Program. AFSA International Auxiliary Education Grants are awarded in amounts of up to $2,000 and may be used to defray the costs of tuition, books, fees, travel, meals or child care. To be eligible, an applicant must have been an AFSA member for at least one year, must be at least 19 years of age, must be accepted into a program that will result in certification or the conferral of a degree, must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and must be able to demonstrate financial need.
