Locate the testing center where you took your GED test. Unfortunately, there may not be a centralized location that houses all GEDs. Therefore you must locate your testing location for them to obtain a record of your GED and have it sent to you.
Have one or more forms of identification for verification purposes. Due to identity theft, adding verification of your identity will ensure that the GED testing center sends the GED to your home without delay. You can use any state-issued ID that includes a picture and also a Social Security card or passport for verification. You may not need to have verifiable identification, but whether you physically pick up your GED or request it through the mail, you may need to have official documentation proving your identity.
Prepare to pay to have a replacement GED sent. You may have to pay a fee to have your GED sent to you. You may need to have this amount in a check, cashier's check, or money order. There may be an additional fee to have the GED replacement expedited.
Contact the testing center to determine the requirements for processing a replacement GED. There may be an online form you may have to fill out or a form that must be faxed in. It may take several weeks before the replacement is sent.
