Visual representations can demonstrate the rules of your testing center as well as services available, from the tests that you administer to the accommodations available to test-takers with disabilities. Photographs and clip art can illustrate proper procedures by showing a person following rules, such as placing belongings in a locker before entering the testing room.
The text on your testing center's bulletin board offers important information on topics ranging from rules and regulations to the exams administered there, so it is important for the bulletin board's text to be clear to your center's visitors. When including written information on a bulletin board, choose text fonts that are easy to read and keep the text itself concise. Use large fonts whenever possible. You also may need to create text in different languages to meet the needs of your audience.
A three-dimensional bulletin board display attracts a test-taker's attention. For example, a three-dimensional cartoon character, model or toy can be placed in the center of your bulletin board and surrounded by words or short phrases that inform visitors and test-takers of the exams that your testing center offers, such as the SAT, GRE or GED. Three-dimensional shapes, like cones or cubes, may enhance bulletin boards that offer tips for math-related testing, or the words and/or phrases themselves can be posted using three-dimensional plastic letters.
