Ideas for an Auditing Bulletin Board

You may have heard of auditing used in reference to the Internal Revenue Service, which does annual audits on taxpayers. In the past, an audit was always considered to be an inventory and accounting of a person's or company's financial records and status. However, it has come to now include other areas such as information security, environment, safety and performance. Different types of audits can be used for bulletin board ideas.
  1. Information Security

    • Put a picture of a detective holding a large magnifying glass in the middle of the bulletin board. Underneath the magnifying glass put the words "Security. For a headline, put "Are You Safe?" Then put a picture of a thief in black and white prison clothes. Put a picture of a computer next to him and put the word "hacked" on the screen. Fill out the rest of the bulletin board with sheets of paper that list all the items an auditor would look for when performing an information security check, like password and login security.

    Environment

    • Environmental audits look at how a business takes the environment into concern when producing its product. Every business will obviously have different concerns and issues to address if faced with an environmental audit. Line the bulletin board with green paper and put a big Earth right in the middle of it. Put the headline, "How Green Are You?" in the middle of the board. Around the Earth put pictures of examples of green business practices, like recycling, organic products and limiting excess waste.

    Safety

    • Safety audits determine if daily business practices are safe and keep employees at minimum risk of being hurt. These will vary greatly from a construction site to an office environment. Create a safety audit bulletin board by putting the words "Safety First" as a headline then put a picture of a working man with a hardhat. Around the man put examples of what an inspector might look for in a safety audit, like daily safety briefing, emergency and disaster planning.

    Performance

    • These audits are often done with non-profits and government agencies that may have no other form of oversight. Performance audits measure the results of a company's financial investments and efforts. To make a performance audit bulletin board, put the words "How Do You Measure Up?" and put a measuring stick on the left side of the bulletin board. To the right of that, put all the things a performance auditor looks at when assessing a company's productivity, like man hours, wages and final output.

    Financial

    • The traditional financial audit can be reflected on a bulletin board with a picture of a scale. Put the words "Are You in Balance" at the top. On either side of the scale put examples using words and pictures of both assets and liabilities.
