After registering for the test, you'll typically have one to two months to prepare. Use this time wisely. The ETS sells affordable study materials at this site: store.digitalriver.com/store?SiteID=ets&Action=DisplayCategoryProductListPage&categoryID=51176100&pgm=75009600. The Interactive study materials run on any PC running at least Windows XP, as well as Intel chip-based Macs. They include practice tests that will be your most valuable resource.

Most of what you need to know to pass the test you have learned -- or are learning -- in your teacher preparation classes. So your notes are another important study resource. Use them to make flash cards, and have a friend quiz you. If you don't have a study partner, try using an online program such as Quizlet (quizlet.com) to make free electronic flash cards.

Get plenty of sleep the night before the test. Don't stay up all night studying. Eat a healthy breakfast and get to the testing center at least 15 minutes early so you don't feel rushed.
