Write down your five current EXPLORE test scores: Composite, English Composition, Mathematics, Reading and Science. If you want to convert to your current PLAN test score, your EXPLORE test scores equal your current approximate PLAN scores for the purpose of amount of knowledge known, according to the ACT Organization. PLAN includes questions with the same difficulty as EXPLORE plus a few more difficult questions. This raises the maximum score. Therefore, a 20 on EXPLORE constitutes a higher relative score (20 out of 25) than a 20 on PLAN (20 out of 32).
Add two to your EXPLORE "English Composition" score if you want to convert to your predicted tenth-grade PLAN test score in the same area. Write the number next to your EXPLORE score. This kind of conversion helps you to determine whether you need further study to increase your future PLAN score to the desired level. Note: If your EXPLORE score falls well above average (23 through 25) or well below average (1 though 10), it may be hard to determine the predicted score for PLAN. Assume that the higher numbers convert in larger increments (raising as much as seven points between the tests), while the lower numbers convert in smaller increments (sometimes not raising at all).
Repeat Step 2 for each of the areas on EXPLORE. Know that the expected change in science is slightly smaller than the others (meaning an average of between 1 to 2 points changed between EXPLORE and PLAN).
