Make bunny ears with the children. Cut 3-inch strips from paper and measure the circumference of each child's head, above the ears. Staple the strips to fit each head, creating a head wrap. Allow the children to cut, color and decorate the ears to make two unique bunny ears. Glue the bunny ears to the back of the head wrap and use the ears during dramatic play.
Trace the feet of each child, rounding out the toe area. Use crayons, cotton and google eyes to decorate a bunny face from the foot tracing! Use the wide part of the foot for the eye area and the small part for the nose. Draw or cut out long strips of paper to attach to the toe area for ears. Allow children to get creative and use the bunnies for a springtime classroom decoration.
Use frozen juice cans or other cans with the edges filed to make a can bunny. Set the can on its bottom and allow the children to use their imaginations to attach eyes, feet, cotton tails and ears to the can. Ears can be attached inside or outside the can. White paper can be wrapped around the can for the body. Feet can be designed with separate paper and attached to the can. The face can be drawn directly onto the can or drawn separately and glued. Use the bunny can to hold pencils or other student treasures.
Use a pastel envelope to create a bunny envelope. Seal the envelope and turn it on its side. Cut it in half. Use half the envelope to create ears and decorate the other half to look like a face. Be sure to keep the opening created after cutting face up. Attach the ears and use the new envelope to hide special springtime treats for the students.
