Make an owl by stuffing a old sock with scrap fabric. Wrap yarn at the middle of the sock to make the neck. Sew the ears and wings. Paint the chest and inside the ears using fabric paint. Sew two yo-yos (round pieces of fabric gathered in the middle) with a button in the middle to make the eyes. Use orange felt or fabric to make the beak. Another idea is to make a mobile by cutting owl silhouettes out of felt, attaching nylon thread to them and decorating with sequins.
Use a large paper bag to create an owl mask. Cut two holes for the eyes and tape a piece of colored cellophane inside the bag to show through the eye holes. Make the beak and ears with construction paper. Another idea is to make a hand puppet using a smaller paper bag. You can also stuff a paper bag with old newspaper, attach cardboard for the wings and the beak, paint the owl and glue on wiggle eyes. Or use a cardboard roll to make the owl's body. Cut another roll in half to make the wings and use Styrofoam ball to make the head.
Collect plastic bottles, plastic flower pots and ice cream and yogurt containers to craft your owl. Glue two yogurt containers by the rim to make the owl's body. Cut the ears and wings out of a plastic bottle, paint them and glue them to the body. Use three pieces of orange pipe cleaner to make each foot. Alternatively, cut off the bottom of six round plastic containers, paint owl's faces on them, decorate with feathers, attach a piece of nylon thread to each and create a mobile.
Shape your owl using clay or play dough. You can form the head and body separately and then use a piece of wire to attach them. Alternatively, mold your owl out of a single piece of clay. Use a toothpick to draw the feathers before the clay is dry. Paint with acrylic paint and glue on wiggle eyes or buttons. Another idea is to model only the owl's head, make it hollow and use it as a pencil holder.
