What happened to the original whitley bay grammar school building and does it still stand?

The original Whitley Bay Grammar School building, located on Park Avenue in Whitley Bay, was demolished in the 1970s to make way for the construction of housing developments and shopping areas. There aren't any remains or structures of the grammar school building that still stand at the original site today.
