Can a 16 year old quit school?

In the United States, the laws regarding when a student can drop out of school vary by state. In most states, students are not allowed to drop out before the age of 18, although some states allow students to drop out at age 16 with parental permission. In some school districts, an exception can be made for a 16 year old student who meets specific criteria, such as having a full time job, being enrolled in a GED program, or having a medical condition that prevents them from attending school. To be sure of the rules in your state, it's best to check with your local school district or state department of education.
