How to Convert Ounces to Drams

The word dram comes from the the Greek word drachme, meaning handful, and is a small measure of mass in the avoirdupois system. In England, the same unit is spelled "drachm." Each dram equals 0.0625 oz. Conversely, it takes 16 drams to equal 1 oz. If you have a measurement in ounces, but want to compare it to a mass measured in drams, you need to convert from ounces to drams to make a legitimate comparison.
