Bullfrog Crafts

Bullfrogs, the largest frogs in North America, have a deep, loud call and a dark green and brown splotchy appearance. They are intriguing animals to learn about and center crafts around. Use creative bullfrog crafts to further peak children's interest about these odd looking, yet curious creatures.
  1. Paper Plate Bullfrog

    • Paint both sides of a white paper plate with green and brown splotches. Allow time to dry. Fold the plate in half. Cut 2-inch ovals out of green or brown construction paper for the eyes. Fold them in half and glue the lower portion of each oval to the top of the bullfrog's body. Draw on eyeballs with a black permanent marker. Cut a 3-inch tongue out of red construction paper and glue the edge into the bullfrog's mouth so it sticks out the front. Cut a set of skinny arms out of green construction paper. Glue one arm to each side of the plate, so each one sticks out to the side. Cut a set of legs out of green construction paper and glue to the bottom of the plate.

    Rockin' Bullfrog

    • Find or buy a round or oval rock about the side of a hand. Paint it with brown and green paint in a smudgy fashion. Allow the rock to dry. Hot glue a set of wiggle eyes to the top of the rock. Cut green or brown foam into a set of webbed feet. Hot glue the feet. Draw a mouth on the front of the rock with black permanent marker. Cut a red pipe cleaner into a long tongue. Hot glue the tongue to the mouth so is looks like it sticks out. Curl the tongue around your finger and slowly pull your finger out to retain the curl.

    Stuffed Bullfrog

    • Cut two ovals from a paper bag; use a pattern so they are the same size. Use sponges to paint the ovals green and brown. Allow drying time. Put the two ovals together and staple the sides, leaving room on one side to stuff with cotton balls, tissue or crumpled newspaper. Staple the open side after stuffing the body. Draw eyes on top with black permanent marker. Cut legs and arms out of green construction paper. Glue the arms to the front side of the bottom and the legs to the rear of the bottom.

    Fingerprint Bullfrog

    • Dip your fingertips into brown and green ink pads and press onto white paper. Keep dipping and pressing until you form a splotchy oval. Draw eyes on top of the ovals with a black, green or brown permanent marker. Draw a line for a mouth on the front with black permanent marker. Draw a long red tongue that protrudes from the mouth with a red permanent marker.
